About the Film – Performances and Technical Review:
New Netflix thriller, Dangerous Lies (a.k.a Windfall), is directed by Michael M. Scott and stars Camila Mendes (of Riverdale fame). This classic 90-minute thriller focuses on a a broke caregiver who unexpectedly inherits her patient’s estate, but dark secrets swirl around her newfound wealth, tangling her in deceit and danger. Camila Mendes delivers an empathetic and layered performance as Katie. Supporting cast includes: Jessie T. Usher, Cam Gigandet and the wonderful face of Jamie Chung. Thriller is very much predictable and one can easily guess most of what will unfold before it actually happens. On tehnical front, screenplay by David Golden is more on streotype. Camera shots and and background score that add as powerful tools to build up suspense in a thriller, fails to capitalize on either. While a twist or two ends up hitting, it gets too little too late.

Overall Review:
A a run-of-the-mill thriller that is not worth the inheritance, Watch it only for Camila (although a bumpy ride for Riverdale star).
