Overall Review: Flying direct from the world of video games, The Angry Birds finally makes their big screen debut in a bold, bright and colorful film for kids and adults. The Angry Birds Movie is not a classic, but it doesn’t try to be. It is fun, light, and energetic. It should keep the kids entertained and the adults amused...

Mother's Day

Mother’s Day

Genre: Comedy, Drama
Duration: 118 minutes
Language: English
India Release Date: 29-APR-2016
Pick-D-Flick Rating: 2.5 on 5

Plot:
Three generations come together in the week leading up to Mother’s Day.

Overall Review: Mother’s Day is the latest star-studded ensemble comedy from director Garry Marshall (‘Pretty Woman,’ ‘Valentine’s Day’) bringing together Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Julia Roberts along with Jason Sudeikisis. Film bets on women dealing with motherhood and affections. The plot is more or less same: romantic comedy with dramatic overtones populated by stereotypical beings with few funny situations. The pace of the movie was haphazard and there was no flow...

Ki and Ka

Genre: Comedy, Romance
Duration: 126 Minutes
Language: Hindi
India Release Date: 01-APR-2016

Plot:
A young couple’s marriage challenges the gender roles placed upon men and women in Indian society.

Overall Review:
R.Balki (Director of Cheeni Kum, Paa, English Vinglish) is back with Rom-Com of year 2016: “Ki & Ka”. This time he shakes our senses with the fresh thought that takes on the situation of gender role reversal. Arjun Kapoor (Kabir) plays the house husband while Kareena Kapoor (Kia) plays the wife who is the breadwinner of the house. She is a successful marketing professional. The love story between Arjun and Kareena is thankfully kept simple, which is exactly what makes Ki & Ka more beautiful. It is a love story with a difference...

Dilwale

Review: Dilwale

Genre: Action, Comedy, Crime
Duration: 151 minutes
Language: Hindi
India Release Date: 18-DEC-2015

Plot:
A couple in love try to overcome the violent conflict between their respective families.

Overall Review:
One would expect an entertainment from the combo: SRK and Rohit Shetty especially after the success of Chennai Express. However, Dilwale is complete letdown. Losely inspired from hollywood film: The Best of Me, this bollywood has nothing to offer. Lose screenplay, writing and execution are the key devils of this movie. The only brownie points for this movie – Kajol: Simply Gorgeous and the Beautiful Locations (including the artwork of the sets erected) & few bone tickling jokes (from Sanjay Mishra). All said and done, Rohit shetty has failed to bring real Dilwale – Raj and Simran.

Review: Tamasha

Tamasha

Tamasha

Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance
Duration: 139 minutes
Language: Hindi
India Release Date: 27-NOV-2015

Plot:
Based in France, this unusual fairy tale unfolds the lives of a nomad and a tourist who gradually develop fondness for each other as they orchestrate ‘Tamashas’ all across the island.

Overall Review:
Know Yourself…Find Your Identity!!! This is how Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha is narrated in the form of 4 stories viz: Teja Ka Sona / Ishqawala Love / Andar Ki Baat & Don Returns. But this narrative style is of a kind which will be loved by elite and not appreciated too much by the commercial audience as at times it is a bit confusing as overlapping scenes have been used to further the drama. Tag Line that says: Why Always The Same Story? holds true...

Shaandaar

Shaandaar

Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance
Duration: 144 minutes
Language: Hindi
India Release Date: 22-OCT-2015

Plot: Shahid Kapoor plays Jaginder Joginder, a wedding planner who is planning Alia’s elder sister’s wedding. Shahid and Alia’s dad Pankaj Kapur seem to have a tumultuous relationship. While Shahid looks the part of the Mills-and-Boons lead hero, Alia is convincing as a glamorous heroine.

Overall Review: The BIG FAT SHAANDAAR Indian Wedding OR should I Say India’s first destination wedding movie having unique script?? Shaandaar is dramatically different from Bahl’s breakthrough directorial debut: Queen. The treatment of the film reminds me of the Fairy Tale with lots of VFX, animations,
& an expensive sets...

Pyaar Ka Panchnama 2

Pyaar Ka Panchnama 2

Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance
Duration: 136 minutes
Language: Hindi
India Release Date: 16-OCT-2015

Plot:
After falling in love, three roommates experience changes in their lives.

Overall Review:
‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ (PKP2) is bolder, packed with funny one liners and is a fresh take on relationships. Even though, the situations are different, the flow of the film is quite similar to the first one. The dialogues are entertaining to quite an extent. The narration of the film has been kept as simple as possible. First half of the film is hilarious especially when film reaches the intermission point where the heroes make a mockery of the smoking disclaimers, using love instead of cigarettes. However the second half looks little bit of streteched...
