Overall Review:
“Veerappan” is a biographical film, which is based on the life of forest brigand Veerappan and the events leading capture and kill him. Besides direction, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has also written the script for the movie. Ram Gopal Varma is back to the grind with a gripping narrative that will keep the audience at the edge of the seat. The first half, has its moments. Watching Veerappan stride across the screen, killing men and animals mindlessly does get you to hold your breath. Second half is focused mainly on the plot to capture the deadliest man alive on the planet. Film does allow you to get up, close and personal with the notorious criminal who made a monkey of the Tamil Nadu and Karnataka Governments, because he knew the loopholes in the system. With its unconventional and extremely well-narrated story line, RGV redeem himself to some degree.

Performance & Technical Review:
Ram Gopal Varma’s engaging screenplay and gripping narration are the highlights of the movie. Sandeep’s transformation as Veerappan is commendable; from his looks to his dialect. Sachin Joshi excels as STF Officer who lives with the sole aim of nabbing Veerappan. Usha Jadhav as Veerappan’s wife Muthulakshmi has delivered brilliant performance. She is raw and rustic. Lisa Ray, who initially seems to be struggling with emotions, gradually settles at the end. Film’s music by Shaarib & Toshi is an average but the background score complements the overall film. Photography at times is superlative and can be termed as masterpiece.

PDF Verdict:
Veerappan is gripping and intriguing. Grab your tickets now to witness the biggest manhunt history of the world.
