Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.

Overall Review:
Sequel isn’t as exciting as it’s predecessor. The movie has a good plot and was a really fun movie to watch with good performances but it is very predictable and thus makes this film just so generic or mediocre. It didn’t bring anything new to table but brought us the predictable formula and tricks. The first film had more mystery, thriller and magic, so at the very least it kept you engaged. This installment, however, does not provide viewers with the same experience and thus this is the biggest negative point. The visuals are, as usual, incredible. The effects are fantastic. Magic Tricks are predictable but exciting, intense and a bit over dramatic. Overall Now You See Me 2 is a fun, entertaining sequel. It is a good movie and not a great movie.

Performance & Technical Review:
Casting is a major strength of the movie. Three of the horsemen are back with Isla Fisher being replaced with Lizzy Caplan (Lula). Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine return and are as dependable as ever and newcomers Daniel Radcliffe, Tsai Chin and (especially) Jay Chou were fun. They worked their best and their action felt fluent and visually pleasing, there was a rhythm to it and a reason for it in particular. The visuals are, as usual, incredible. The effects are fantastic. Script was mediocre and predictable.

PDF Verdict: The sequel to the 2013 hit Now You See Me, is an enjoyable magic heist movie with some funny moments and good acting. CAUTION: If you have not seen the first, you definitely should see that before this.
