Overall Review:
R.Balki (Director of Cheeni Kum, Paa, English Vinglish) is back with Rom-Com of year 2016: “Ki & Ka”. This time he shakes our senses with the fresh thought that takes on the situation of gender role reversal. Arjun Kapoor (Kabir) plays the house husband while Kareena Kapoor (Kia) plays the wife who is the breadwinner of the house. She is a successful marketing professional. The love story between Arjun and Kareena is thankfully kept simple, which is exactly what makes Ki & Ka more beautiful. It is a love story with a difference. Movie deals with an issue which the Indian society still struggles with. The film stresses upon the equality of genders. Nevertheless R. Balki wonderfully packs everything entertaining and thought worthy.

Performance & Technical Review:
Arjun Kapoor breaks his own typecast and performs strongly in a film quite unlike him. Bebo is so suave that you can’t take your eyes off. She never lets you down as a performer. Arjun and Kareena’s pairing looks fresh and refreshing. Swaroop Sampat (Kia’s Mother) looks natural and supports film well. The cameo from Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan is fun to watch. The music of Ki & Ka goes well with the overall set-up of the film. The soundtrack compliments the film’s narrative. The problematic area is overdrawn climax (last 20 minutes) where you feel film has been dragged. Hence a sharp editing would have earned cherry points to the film.

PDF Verdict: Fresh Thought & Honest Performances will make you fall in love with this film that truly proves: Streeling (Ki) and Pulling (Ka) is same thing. It is a love story between two people with different ideologies taking the audiences through their interesting journey. Watch this one for the much needed role reversal.
