Pari is a supernatural thriller starring Anushka Sharma who plays an abuse victim.

Overall Review:
Pari, the supernatural thriller directed by newcomer Prosit Roy stars Parambrata Chatterjee and Anushka Sharma in lead roles. This is Anushka Sharma’s third production after NH10 and Phillauri. Pari is touted as Horror Genre with Super Natural Powers. The first half of Pari, blends romance into a plot that’s decidedly dark and gruesome. However, the director seems to get his command back in the second half as he beautifully executes spooky scenes and their sudden occurrences. Anushka Sharma dares to do what not many leading ladies would. She is comfortable to put on a battered, bruised look with blood spewed all over herself for the most part of the film. The film is heavy on the gore with its bloody twists but it doesn’t bore you. Prosit Roy has fully utilized all the actors, supporting cast and scary elements of a horror film. Pari has a winner in its background score composer – Ketan Sodha. The nail-cutter effect, the music of cartoon channel, thumping of doors; Ketan covers this scary canvas with his spine-chilling effects. A far cry from being scary, Pari drags on towards the end with not required MELODRAMA. The story could have been a little better, or fast moving. But still, it was interesting enough to keep you bound to your theater seats. Finally, if you’re going into Pari expecting a scary experience, you may be let down but few moments will surely keep you glued to the seat for its runtime nearly of 130 minutes.

PDF Verdict:
After portraying complicated and conflicted roles in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Jab Harry Met Sejal, Anushka Sharma elevates the level of spirits post Phillauri. Watch this SCAREFEST if you are in the mood for a gore-filled horror film.
