Mubarakan

Mubarakan

Short Review:
Anees Bazmee (director of Welcome, Singh is King, Ready, No Problem, Welcome Back) brings situational comedy of errors: Mubarakan in year 2017. It’s full paisa vasool joyful ride for the entire family. Anees Bazmee brilliantly rounds this up well into a colorful, happy laughathon showcasing the Chacha Bhatija duo – Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor in ‘jhakaas’ form. First half is complete laugh riot whereas second half loses the steam in last 25-30 minutes. The humour in Mubarakan does take a bit of time to set in. Bazmee takes time to establish the emotional connect between the characters giving us their back stories before beginning the Laugh-A-Thon. Arjun Kapoor, who doubles up as Karan (the smart guy) and Charan (the duffer), proves a point with this madcap...

Raag Desh

Short Review:
Tigmanshu Dhulia brings industry’s new favorite subject: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (Indian National Army) in form of his new film titled “RAAG DESH”. He presents the story of three INA soldiers — Shah Nawaz Khan (Kunal Kapoor), Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon (Amit Sadh) and Prem Sahgal (Mohit Marwah) — and their Red Fort trials, that made for a rare display of retreat by the British Empire. Besides the three chief actors, Kenny Desai proves his mettle as a nuanced actor & shines in the grave role of Bhulabhai Desai, the legal representative of the three INA soldiers. All his scenes, particularly the concluding monologue, are impressive.
Through the eyes of the three soldiers— a Hindu, a Sikh, and a Muslim–we see how a remarkable ‘army’ was born, and how ‘desh ki azaa...

A story about unrequited love – the shapes it takes, the ways it changes us and the exhilarating and often heartbreaking ride it takes us on. It is the journey of three characters, Ayan, Alizeh and Saba, as their lives intertwine and they navigate life, love and heartbreak.

Overall Review:
Kjo films have always centred around relationships and emotions, which are woven together with larger than life opulence with music playing an integral role. #AeDilHaiMushkil also falls in the same space. It offers little in terms of story and fails to get the audience empathise or feel for the characters and events in the movie...

Pick-D-Flick Rating:

Plot:
Shivaay is a Himalayan mountaineer who is an innocent and yet is capable of transforming into a mean destroyer when he needs to protect his family.

PDF Verdict: Loosely adapted from English flick: Taken, Ajay Devgn’s 2nd bollywood film Shivaay fails miserably. With running time of 175 minutes, watch this film only if you have absolutely nothing else to do. Debutant Sayyeshaa Saigal tells Ajay in the climax: “I don’t know what to say. I am at a loss for words” and so was the case with me. As the punch line says: “THERE WILL BE DESTRUCTION THIS DIWALI”, it will be if you see this film...
