Overall Review:
Inspired by a French short film called The Piano Tuner, Andhadhun is who dunit murder mystery directed by noir expert Sriram Raghavan The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte in lead roles supported by Chaya Kadam (of Sairat Fame) and Ashwini Kalsekar. Sriram Raghavan brings his love for the 1970s and 80s Bollywood cinema and gives his tribute to ‘Chhaya Geet’ and ‘Chitrahaar’ in the beginning. Songs like ‘Tere Galiyon Mein Na Rakehnge’, ‘Yeh Jeevan Hai’ flow in the narrative. First half of the film is replete with a blend of palpitating tension, suspense and comedy in classic. The second half begins with a bang and keeps the viewers gripped. But eventually film begins to drop and get unconvincing. From technical department film excels. Sriram Raghavan’s direction is terrific and his narrative style will take the viewers on a wild trip. The screenplay is flawless especially in the first half. Dalogues by Sriram Raghavan, Arijit Biswas, Yogesh Chandekar and Pooja Ladha Surti are sharp and witty. Amit Trivedi’s music is melodious and suits the narrative well. Lead actor Ayushmann Khurana has never been better: He is terrific as Aakash – a blind pianist. Radhika Apte Pitch-Perfect. Tabu Is Astounding, She owns every scene that she’s in in this film. The command she carries in her delivery gives her character a sense of intimidating authority while also revealing her problematic complexities. The manner in which she plays the mind games and tries to manipulate the situations at various points is quite fun. Sriram Raghavan, known for his earlier edgy films like ‘Badlapur’ and ‘Johnny Gaddaar’, weaves a riveting story in ‘Andhadhun’. The film spirals and moves at a dramatic pace and is overall an unpredictable fare. If ‘thriller master’ had done something about the glitches in the second half, ANDHADHUN would have been a game changer!

PDF Verdict:
Those who loves Crime Mysteries, Raghavan’s 2018 edge of the seat thriller – ANDHADHUN is a treat – A Perfect Crime Story with a killer plot and an intelligent, emotionally complex thriller filled with deceit, betrayal and remorseless sociopaths. Just Blindfold yourself and Grab a Ticket !!!
